Hi, my name is Darren Fisher and i'm currently in the second year of a BA(hons) Web Design course at the Hull School of Art & Design. It's my first year at the school so I have lots to catch up on. My portfolio is a work in progress so please come visit regularly to see updates.
After working in Education for over 10 years, I decided to go back to school myself and further my love of design. Over the last few years I have enjoyed learning new skills and keeping upto date in this fast expanding field. Most of my spare time recently has been used for study but with what little time I have left is spent with my family (and watching the occasional football match
).
This module introduced me to PHP (personal home page) programming. Our task was to create a thematic Gallery site. I used content created by a member of my family. This collection of photographs was titled Deep Sexy Confusion.

I have been using iTunes to download materials to introduce you to programming for the iPhone platform. Once I have finished my university work, I am going to set some time aside to update my skills and experiment creating applications. Hopefully I will be able to incorporate this into my final year project.

I would call my Flash skills very poor, I'm still learning and would say improving slowly. With Flash moving more into 3D and gaming i've started to look at it's new potential with Away 3D.
Most people don't need a bespoke CMS, you can find plenty out there which are free to use, I'm hoping soon to experiment with WordPress using a free downloadable ebook called How to be a Rockstar WordPress Designer. Another CMS I hope to try out is Expression Engine.
