For this task we had to produce an interactive installation for potential inclusion at the Ferens Art Gallery. The interactive installation piece must have some link to portraiture.

When we were informed about this task we sat down as a group and decided which area we would all focus on. Myself, Chris Dunn and Andrew Howard all worked on the flash side of things, whilst Daniel Whittaker and Daniel Farrell worked on the website. Later as a group we all decided with the idea of something were the user would create some sort of doodle or painting. As a group we then decided on the idea of were the user would take a portrait photograph of themselves and then have a two minute time limit to try and draw over such things as eyes, mouth, hair etc. This would then send the photo to a PHP database and then be posted on our website once approved.

For this task I worked on three things, these were the paint tool which enabled the user to draw, the on-screen keyboard which we used to send the name of the user along with the photo into the database with the use of the enter button (which later had to be changed due to rotational problems) and I also researched skin tone colours.

When concluding this project I felt that this task went very well and as a group we met all the criteria which was required. I felt that as an individual, everything I did throughout this project was to the best of my ability but in the future I would hope to contribute a little bit more when working with flash.
