1 Minute Video Brief

Brief

You will produce a video, exactly 60 seconds long with the theam Unite. The film must have a narrative - it has to tell a story - with a beginning, a middle and an end - however simple. You can make your film as simple or as complicated as you like - all we need is 60 seconds of original footage with a great storyline, based around the theme 'unite'.

The one minute video demands concise, accurate editing and careful planning - atmosphere must be conveyed quickly - the right lighting (color, intensity) camera angle, viewpoint and choice of music can combine to make a minute seem like an hour or 10 seconds. On the other hand the one minute video brings it's own freedom - there is no the need for a big budget, truckloads of equipment, exotic locations and a film crew - just you, a camera and a good idea.

You can use any digital camera, whether it is a pro-quality DV cam, a still camera with video capability or a camera enabled mobile device.

Ideas

For my video i tried to show how in a band while practicing every part individually sounds pretty boring and out of place but when the different sounds are united into one audio track it all comes together.

I recorded the video on a green-screen background and used the keying tool to replace it with a solid colour. I used Adobe audition to do the keying, titles and effects on the video. The audio was recorded spereately using a firewire Mixer directly into the computer.
