Designing For the User INT2038
The brief stated that we were to create an online magazine web site for a specific age group. This had to be done in Adobe Flash using ActionScript 2, the site had to apply to the chosen age group.
Also stated was that we had to create a design document which shows the process I went through when designing the site. This document also had to contain the results from our user testing which I had to undertake.
I proposed to build an Online Children’s Magazine for a fictional magazine called Oscars Den. The magazine would have many different interactive features. These would include Games, Activities and stories; I proposed to make all of these educational for the users but not too boring.
This project involved a lot of research, as it had to appeal to a certain age group. I spend many hours looking through magazine, toyshops and generally places where children go and like to be. This helped me design the site and made sure the users would find it visually pleasing and also useable.
As with all web sites, this one was planned out on paper first and then mocked up in Adobe Illustrator. I also carried out user testing on these mock up to see what reaction the designs received.

I learnt a lot of new skills during this project and think I creted a finished site and design document to be proud of.
