Hi, my name is Paul Starkey. I was born on the 24th february 1981. I had a typical childhood and up bringing. I Have had a fascination with making things from a very young age. While at school I won second place in a competition to design a ride for a well known theme park. After leaving school I went straight into work for a retail outlet. Among the various roles given, I was also tasked with creating window displays. From here I worked for my local council and then spent a number of years as the assistant manager of a valeting company. I then went on to university where I am currently studying for a BA (Hons) in games design.

During my spare time I self taught myself how to 3D model using Blender an open source 3d modeling programme. While at university I have learnt how to use various programmes such as, Adobe's Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, In Design and many more. I have also learnt how to use the unreal editor and am currntly teaching myself the Unity 3D game development software and java script. After I finish my degree I am looking to become a teacher as well as freelance designing on the side. I would like to advance my knowledge base in regards to the various designing software out there and also, would like to learn more coding languages. My main area of expertise is in 3D modeling but I plan on extending this by learning all aspects of this area such as, rigging and animating models, texturing and special effects. My main aim is to have a wide knowledge base in software used for game design and development. But to specialise in 3D software, from modeling to rigging, animation and application of design into game development software.
