Evaluation:

For our client related practice module we all worked together in a group and I feel we all contributed towards this project very well. I was happy with the way we started the project with the girls working on the design side and the boys working on the technical side. As the project moved on however, we all started to work on our own individual jobs which I thought was a good idea because more jobs could be getting done at the same time so we could make sure the project was finished in time.

My contribution towards this project includes some design work, keywords and phrases for SEO, working on the newsletter and also the Google Analytics document. For the design work I created three mood boards. One set the mood and feel for the website we were going to create for Creative & Digital Hull, one showed who the target audience would be and the last one showed the sorts of colours that could be used for the website. I then created wireframes and mock-ups of the different pages that would be needed for the website using a variety of different colour schemes. I then went on to look into keywords and phrases that would benefit this website in search engine optimisation. For this task I looked on the internet and in books to find out how keywords and key phrases were chosen and then I chose a number of words that could be put within the code of the website. Next I started to work on the newsletter and I created a wireframe for what the layout of the newsletter would be like and then I went on to create a mock-up of the newsletter to show what it would look like. Next I started to create the newsletter in Dreamweaver and I created a template and set areas that were and were not editable and then used this template within a new html document. The final thing I did for this project was create a guide on how to use Google Analytics. I used the internet and books to help me write this document and I used the same template that was used for the style guide so all the documentation was consistent throughout the project. I feel like I contributed quite well towards this group project although I would have liked to learn and have a go at the technical side of the project because although I understand all the design work and how it was created, I don’t understand how the content management system was created and how it works and also what coding was used to create the website.

Overall I feel we all worked well as a group and we all communicated and shared our ideas very well so that everyone in the group knew everything that was going on all the time. In future group projects, I feel we should all have a go at doing a bit of everything so we all know how everything works and why within the project.
